For the first time in its history, the Mr Leather UK contest came to the capital under new sponsorship from Millivres Prowler Group, Expectations, the UK’s largest fetish store and Suzie Krueger’s Hard On.
The event, held at the industrial, boiler-house setting of Expectations with DJ Brent Nicholls providing the tunes, formed part of the AGM Weekend of the Motor Sport Club (MSC) London, one of the oldest clubs in the UK for gay and bisexual men into leather, motorbikes and other fetish clothing, including rubber, uniforms, boots, skinhead gear and sports kit.
The evening’s host was porn star and leather daddy, singer Greg Mitchell, who kept the 150 strong leather crowd at Expectations entertained throughout the various rounds.
The elite judging panel, made up of Chris Dixon, Manager of Expectations, Paul Turner, Chairman of MSC London and the reigning Mr Leather Germany, and runner-up at last year’s International Mister Leather (IML), Tyrone Rontganger, who’d flown in especially for the event, chose well known sexy ‘cub about town’ Avi Angel (pictured right) as the winner, who goes forward to represent the UK at next month’s IML in Chicago and European Mr Leather in November.
Avi’s originally from South Africa, but has made London his home over the last decade where he’s a visual web designer. He beat a strong line-up of hot leather men to take the title, and the current Mr Leather UK and recent winner of Mr Leather Europe, Kilker Alcaraz, presented him with his sash.
“I’m so honoured to be chosen for this title! I love leather and the community of brothers in the leather world have always made me so welcome, and are the friendliest and sexiest group of guys you can find anywhere,” said Avi accepting his title.
“I now have a very busy year ahead with the two International competitions and appearances at many events around the country, including the London Fetish Week, HustlaBall, Hotwired and Hard On club nights, a West End leather film premier and I’ll also be leading the MSC Leather group at this year’s London Pride which will be great fun! My first job is to represent the UK at Berlin Leather Week in Germany at Easter before heading back for Folsom in September.”
Avi’s prize included several extensive bespoke leather outfits for his year in the spotlight, together with £500, a magazine cover with a full interview and much more!
