Formerly known as H20, Base is Basement’s little sister: slightly smaller, but packing just as much of a friendly manc welcome as Basement. It’s located right in the midst of the village, so attracts all those who spill out of the bars and clubs come closing time. Despite its more modest size, it’s still got a jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and plenty of dark corners you can retreat to. Plus, it’s got discounted entry for students and village staff, which always helps bring in a younger crowd.

Base Leeds is another one of their venues that is situated right in the city centre, close to The Calls, the gay village in Leeds. It’s conveniently open all day, every day. Well, apart from Christmas Day, but in the festive spirit of it all, let’s just have one day off. We can get back at it on Boxing Day, promise. It’s one of those saunas with shiny, modern facilities, like a eucalyptus steam room and a large spa pool, as well as a lounge area to kick back in. Something for everyone.

Basement sits on the edge of the village and a barm’s throw from the thriving nightlife and music scene of the Northern Quarter.
