Race Cooper’s been on QXMEN’s radar for some time now and, even though he was out of town on a well-earned vacation, the sexy man still took time out to answer a few questions we put to him.
If you don’t mind us asking, how old are you?
I’ll be 37 in seven weeks…. But if anyone asks for my black age… it’s 24. I still get carded for alcohol…. ridiculous.
Where were you born and raised, and where do you live now?
I was born and raised in downtown Toronto, Canada. Great city to grow up in. I learned about every culture from the multi-cultural street I lived on. I knew swear words in every language by the time I was eight. Now I live in San Francisco. A little different from Canada… but the cultural mix is still there.
What did you do before you started working in the porn industry?
Before porn I worked in Television and Film. Yeah, quite the stretch, huh? I worked as a director/producer/television host. I worked for stations like MuchMusic (Canada’s MTV) and directed and produced commercials and programs for the Toronto Star. Then for awhile I went in front of the camera as a travel host, and did some background dance work for the show Queer As Folk.

And how did you get into the business?
In a word, Steve Cruz. I blame him entirely for getting me into the porn business. In fact, I blame him more than Whitney blames Bobby. Steve and I have been friends for a while…. and after hanging with him, and seeing how he worked the industry… I started getting curious. When I was ready to do a scene, he cast me right away.
Were you nervous doing your first scene?
Totally. But I was really lucky. I was already friends with my scene partner Scott Alexander, and I had Steve Cruz directing me. I felt really secure that they both would make sure I didn’t fuck things up in anyway. We actually had a blast shooting my scene… I don’t think I’ve laughed that much on set since. I tend to crack jokes more when I’m nervous.
Are you top, bottom or versatile?
I’m versatile. Very, very, very versatile. It helps that I have two personalities, and they’re both hungry for fucking.
Who’s the hottest TOP in the industry?
Hmmm… That’s a tough one. If I was just going to go with people I know I’d say it might be a toss up between Wilfred Knight and D.O. They both have great personalities, and are constantly ready to wreck people.
And the hottest BOTTOM?

Funny thing is I work as the Casting Director for Raging Stallion. So I’m already kinda doing that anyway. But if I could think of a dream sex scenario it would involve Spencer Reed, Alessio Romero, Samuel Colt, Jason Adonis, myself, Angelo Marconi, Junior Stellano and D.O. It would be a 1940’s period setting in a men’s club. Black and white with big club chairs, suits, slicked hair, garter belts… the whole nine yards. Highly stylised with no story. Just small dialogue, and crazy hot sex before these men had to go back to their wives.
Do you get recognised in the street?
Sometimes. I mean porn stars in San Francisco are a dime a dozen, so no one really calls you by your stage name here. But occasionally I’ll get recognised at the gym or on the subway…. It’s cool. A little weird, but cool.
What do you do to relax?
Smoke weed… Seriously, when I look to relax I go hang with my friends, and we go to the beach and get really retarded. It’s the medicinal cure that cures everything!
Do you have a boyfriend?
I have a husband, and lovers… Can’t live on one dick alone.
If the world were to end tomorrow what would you rush out and do?
I don’t think I’d rush to do anything… Although I would make sure that everyone I loved knew how much they meant to me, and how much they affected my life. Then I’d go to a hilltop and grab some weed and watch the chaos. It would be the best show in the world.
