Alert! is Manchester’s biggest and longest running monthly gay fetish night for guys who like their clubbing with a bit of added sleaze, and has just celebrated its eighth birthday. Its mission is to provide a safe environment for people to explore their existing fetishes, discover fresh interests and meet friends old and new.
Held on the fourth Friday of the month at Alter Ego, right on the edge of Manchester’s Gay Village and staggering distance from Canal Street’s bars and clubs, Alert! is the perfect place to dress up (or dress down) in your favourite fetish gear and has plenty of dark spaces to explore your kinkiest of perversions.
So what sort of guys go to Alert!? Well, anyone with an fetish interest, be it army or military, rubber, skinhead, leather, scallies, guys into sports kit, guys into CP, S&M, Masters and Slaves, puppies and their handlers… You name it, Alert! caters for most fetishes, welcoming novices and seasoned players alike.
Alert! supports other events happening in the Manchester gay community, like this month forming part of the birthday celebrations for the Manchester Rubbermen group and in June being the focus for the Manchester Gay Skinhead weekend – both of which pull in people from all over the UK and Europe. You’ll find a mix of DJs with residencies from some of the bigger names in Manchester, occasional guest DJs and also some of the city’s newer talent so the musical mix is varied.
And if you’re stuck for an outfit, a permanent fixture at Alert! is the RoB On The Road pop-up shop, which stocks a selection of gear from the RoB Manchester Store. Alert! members get 10% discount on many items, either in store or at the club, as long as you have your membership card with you.
