BRUCE LABRUCE’S LA ZOMBIE… BANNED IN AUSTRALIA

If the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) follows the same line as its Australian counterpart, we may never get to see the beautiful François Sagat in his scariest role yet in Bruce LaBruce’s queer zombie film LA Zombie: The Film That Would Not Die.

François stars as a schizophrenic homeless man who thinks he’s an alien zombie sent to earth. Roaming the streets of Los Angeles, he searches out dead bodies and then does unspeakable things to them. The movie also stars major-league porn players including Matthew Rush, Erik Rhodes, Francesco D’Macho, Wolf Hudson, Eddie Diaz and Adam Killian. Following its world premiere last year in Berlin, the movie was pulled from the Melbourne International Film Festival and police subsequently raided the home of festival director, Richard Wolstencroft.

The Australian Classification Board had rejected the film, though Wolstencroft said in a statement that he believed the work was “artistically significant”. Matthias von Fistenberg, to the hot guy who graced the cover of last month’s QXMEN, and the producer of the film, told us, “We have purposely conceived the style of the film to be borderline offensive and seemingly bad taste, but we never thought we would be able to manipulate main stream media to such a degree. It was a brilliant experiment in adult film marketing and I will reveal in my February interview many clever teasing tricks we’ve used.” Check out the trailer at the official website www.LAZombie.com, and make up your mind.
